Trees, woods and hedges have been lost due to a variety of causes including disease, agricultural intensification and development over many years. Action is needed to protect what we have and replace what we have lost.
Tree Wardens are volunteers who work closely with their Parishes to encourage a respect for trees and hedges in the community. They may or may not be part of their Parish Council but are expected to work closely with them. Tree Wardens are not expected to be experts at all but to have a genuine love for trees and the natural environment. (A training pack is provided for all new Tree Wardens to provide them with the necessary basic knowledge runs training sessions)
