Development opportunities in and around Longsands College have been investigated in this Longsands Quarter Urban Design Framework.

The document looks at how best to co-ordinate emerging proposals at the former open air swimming pool site, the Regional College, Longsands College, Almond Road Surgery and the Clinic. These proposals include building a new Health Centre or Regional College building on the former open air swimming pool site, as well as the creation of new leisure facilities in the vicinity, and residential development on land to the north of the existing Regional College.

The document was approved as Interim Planning Guidance by the District Council in March 2006.
