In 2006 Huntingdonshire District Council undertook a major review and subsequent enlargement of the Conservation Area within St Neots, Eynesbury and the Eatons. These changes were made to boundaries first drawn in 1971.
The new boundary amalgamates the three old Conservation Areas into one larger one and includes large areas of meadow land which form the setting of the town. The area extends northwards to Crosshall and Little Paxton, and south to the A428.
In addition to a review of the Conservation Area boundary, the District Council also produced an assessment of the area’s character and a management plan for its future enhancement.
The documents were approved by Cabinet on 19th October 2006 and the Conservation Area has been in operation from that date.
