Whistleblowing

We are aware that not everyone is honest in their dealings with us. Although we have teams who look out for fraud, corruption or theft that have an impact on the Council – and on you – we also rely on people in the community to blow the whistle if they suspect that someone is cheating.
Please help us to help you.
If you believe that someone is trying to cheat the Council, or acting in a fraudulent way, in whatever form, then please report it to us.

You can either:

  • Ring the 24 hour dedicated whistleblowing hotline 01480 387080.
  • Send an email to the address on the right.
  • Complete an electronic form linked on the right.
  • Write to ‘Confidential Whistleblowing’ at our usual Pathfinder House address.

No matter which method you choose to contact us by your concerns will be treated in confidence. Your concern will also be treated more seriously if you provide your name and some contact information. Concerns may not be investigated if they are made anonymously.

If you have comments or complaints about how we provide services then please raise your concern via our complaints page, or report them to the appropriate section.

Remember that fraud, corruption and theft against the Council costs all of us money. Money that could be better spent on improving the services that we provide.

The Council's whistleblowing policy and accompanying guidance note together with its anti-fraud and corruption strategy can be read from the linked documents box on the right.
