Performance Indicators

It is vital that local authorities have a comprehensive baseline on performance against which our progress can be judged and our performance can be compared both at a local and national level.

The council has a duty to collect performance information.  These indicators have been set by the Government for a variety of services and are reported annually in our Best Value Performance Plan (see Best Value section).  The Audit Commission also undertakes an audit on our performance indicators annually and reports accordingly.

Our latest performance indicators can be found in our latest best value performance plan in the Best Value section, linked on the right.  For further information on these contact Howard Thackray, Policy Officer, on telephone (01480) 388035 or send an email (right).

The council’s performance can be compared against other authorities by following the link on the right (ODPM Local Government Performance site).
