What is best value and what does it mean?
As a council we have always taken seriously our commitment to providing high quality and value for money services. Best value provides us with an opportunity to review those services, measure our performance and produce plans for improvement. The results are published annually in our Best Value Performance Plan (right). Previous copies are also listed.
Best value means:
- Providing services that local people want and need.
- Ensuring a balance between the cost and quality of our service.
- Looking at our services from the customer’s point of view and asking all our residents about the services we provide.
- Comparing the costs and quality of services that we provide with other councils and organisations in the voluntary sector.
