Council


All Councillors sit together as full Council at meetings which take place six times a year plus the Annual Meeting held in May.  The Council is principally responsible for the policy and strategic framework.  They agree the budget and council tax, elect the Leader, appoint the Deputy Leader, Chief Executive and Chief Officers and other Members to the Cabinet and other Panels.

Council meeting are open to the public and currently are held in various venues around the District because of the redevelopment works to Pathfinder House.  Meetings start at 7.00 pm.  Copies of the Agenda are available in Libraries throughout the District and via our meetings link.

Local residents can send the Council a petition on any matter for which the Council has a responsibility or which is relevant to something of major significance or concern to Huntingdonshire.  A short guide on how to submit petitions is available using the link on the right.  Petitions can now be submitted electronically as well as in paper form.  Anyone wishing to submit an e-petition can use the link on the right.

The public are now able to speak to Councillors regarding planning applications which are to be considered by the Development Management Panel.  If you would like further information please use the link on the right side of this page.
