Council


All Councillors sit together as full Council at meetings which take place six times a year.  The Council is principally responsible for the policy and strategic framework.  They agree the budget and council tax, elect the Leader, appoint the Deputy Leader, Chief Executive and Chief Officers and other Members to the Cabinet and other Panels.

Council meeting are open to the public and most are held in Pathfinder House, Huntingdon starting at 2.30 pm.  Copies of the Agenda are available in Libraries throughout the District and via our meetings link.

Local residents can send the Council a petition on any matter for which the Council has a responsibility or which is relevant to something of major significance or concern to Huntingdonshire.  A short guide on how to submit petitions is available using the link on the right.  Petitions can now be submitted electronically as well as in paper form.  Anyone wishing to submit an e-petition can use the link on the right.
