Children And Young Peoples Group And Services

It is important that HDC listen to what children and young people say about services that may affect their lives in some way, as this helps us to provide services and facilities that are really useful for children and young people and not those that adults think they want.

Different services within the Council have consulted with children and young people about a wide variety of things.  Children and young people have been contacted through different sources including surveys, interviews, group discussions, graffiti boards, diary rooms and visits.  We would also like to involve children and young people in planning services and get them more involved with certain projects such as the current St Neots Skate project and the new park in Huntingdon.  To date, a group of young people are already working with project leaders to help design the facilities being offered in the above two projects.

We are always looking for ways to involve children and young people in the work we do and are continually working with other organisations in Huntingdonshire to see how we can do this better.

If you want to talk about how you can get involved in any of the current and future projects please contact Gill Hanby by e-mail (see link ) or call directly on 01480 388462.
