Yelling
An unusually-named village (taken from the manorial family of Gill or Gell), Yelling is set in a woodland valley close to the District's south-eastern boundary and has attractive thatched and half-timbered cottages. In its 12th Century church are four bells dated from 1666 and two stained glass windows in memory of a former rector and his wife. A plaque commemorating Reverend Henry Venn the noted Evangelist who died in the Rectory is over the pulpit.
