The Stukeleys
Great and Little Stukeley lie north west of Huntingdon astride Ermine Street, the Old Roman Road and are united into one Parish. There is a fine medieval church in each village and each has a Post Office, Village Hall and Recreation Ground. Great Stukeley also has a modern public house, the Three Horseshoes and a country hotel converted from a 16th Century farmhouse. Interesting cottages around the church in Little Stukeley form a conservation area, whilst Great Stukeley's three 'ends' are grouped around the parkland of Stukeley Hall, a late Georgian country house. Beyond the two villages lies Alconbury Airfield, a former WW2 military airfield which was used until recently by the American Air Force.
