  • There were more people under the age of 16 than over the age of 60.

  • More people worked in the manufacturing industry than in any other industry.
  • People worked more hours per week than on average in the East and in England.
  • More people worked at or from home than the East and England averages.
  • More people were self-employed than on average in the East and in England.
  • More people were married or re-married than the East and England averages.
  • More people considered their health to be good and less people considered their health to be not good than on average in the East and in England.
  • Less people had no qualifications and slightly more people were qualified to degree level or higher than on average in the East and in England.
  • More households owned a car or van than on average in the East and in England.
  • There were 1.4 cars or vans per household compared to an average of 1.3 in the East and an average of 1.1 in England.
