Facts And Figures

The council and its partners use information about the district and the region to help assess local needs, plan services and monitor success.  The council also receives many enquiries from businesses and individuals requesting information and statistics about the local area.  These pages contain the most frequently requested facts and figures, as well as links to other websites which can provide useful information.

We have produced a document called ‘Huntingdonshire Today’, which is a review and analysis of statistics about the district.  The document uses data collated from a variety of sources, particularly the latest Census and partner organisations, to produce an economic and social profile of Huntingdonshire.  A copy is available on the right, where it has been split into sections for faster downloading.

The 2001 Census, linked on the left, provides recent information from all households within the district with details down to parish levels.

The ONS Neighbourhood Statistics website contains a wealth of information on large and small areas, including 2001 Census data and Home Office crime figures.

The Land Registry provides data on local house sales and house prices.

Cambridgeshire County Council's Research Group produces reports on economic and demographic topics and carries out surveys.  Their population and dwelling stock estimates can be accessed from our Area Population Statistics page on the left and their webpages can be viewed using the link on the right.

Cambridgeshire Observatory: Your local area in maps and figures

The aim of the Cambridgeshire Observatory is to enable anyone to find and use information about places in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The Observatory will help you to:

  • get information on subjects such as population, the economy, deprivation, household income, pupil performance, health, and crime,
  • look up statistics from the 2001 Census,
  • view and download information in tables for further use, and
  • draw thematic colour range maps.

A link to the Observatory can be found on the right.
