You can also look under 'External Links' where you will find some websites that provide useful information on crime prevention.
'Watch Schemes' are a good way of helping prevent crime:
Neighbourhood Watch
Neighbourhood Watch is a voluntary organisation, supported by the police, set up to encourage residents to look after their own neighbourhoods by reporting anything suspicious to the police. It is normally set up in schemes at ‘street’ level with a co-ordinator acting as a link between the neighbourhood and the police.
Cambridgeshire Countryside Watch
Countryside Watch - is very similar to Neighbourhood Watch but is designed for the more rural communities of Cambridgeshire. It is designed to include farmers, land owners, horse owners and other rural businesses in joining together to tackle rural crime.
There are other 'Watch schemes' in place in the District which have been developed with the support of the police. These schemes are aimed at preventing a variety of crimes: Truck Watch - Boat Watch - Hospital Watch - Pub Watch - Business Against Crime. If you would like any information about these schemes, contact one of the Crime Reduction Officers at Cambridgeshire Constabulary on Huntingdon 0845 456 4564.
