A Designated Public Places Order can be applied to an area designated by a local authority where there is persistent anti-social behaviour caused by people drinking in public.
Police officers can confiscate alcohol from people if it is suspected that consumption of alcohol is causing or may lead to anti-social behaviour. Refusal to comply may lead to arrest and/or a find of up to £500.00.
