Although the area of Huntingdonshire is generally a safe place to live, work and spend your leisure time, Huntingdonshire District Council is committed to working in partnership to reduce the levels of crime and disorder, and the fear of crime in its area. The terms ‘crime prevention’, ‘crime reduction’ and ‘community safety’ all have similar meanings and to avoid any confusion the term ‘community safety’ is used by this authority.
To avoid confusion it should be made clear that the Community Safety Team does not deal with issues of road safety or safety in the home.
The Community Safety Team works very closely with a variety of agencies including Cambridgeshire Constabulary to address crime and disorder.
