People with mobility difficulties can now do their shopping in Huntingdon town centre with greater ease thanks to the introduction of a new shop mobility scheme.
The scheme will receive a £25,000 cash boost from Huntingdonshire District Council each year, for the next three years. The new facility is the result of a partnership between the Council, Papworth Trust, Hunts Forum and the Town Centre Partnership. Funding is also being provided by the local business community.
The new shop mobility facility is located at Princess Street car park, in Huntingdon.
The service aims to serve the growing needs of people who require mobility scooters (and other selected equipment) who until now may not have had access to such a resource.
The shop mobility unit has 12 mobility scooters and manual wheel chairs are also available. The unit is manned between 9.30 - 3.00 Tuesday - Saturday. There is a disabled toilet on site with mobility ramped access. For Casual Hire and Membership fees please contact the telephone number below.
Radar keys can also be obtained from this location.
