Small Businesses

Over 90% of businesses in Huntingdonshire are small firms with less than 50 employees.  (Source: Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Employers' Database)

Through the services offered by our Economic Development Section and our partners, we aim to help new and existing small businesses to thrive in the district.

The council owns commercial and industrial properties in each of our market towns which are available on flexible leases.  To find out about availability and costs of these units contact the Industrial Management Assistant, Legal and Estates Section, tel: (01480) 388031.

We support the Huntingdonshire Enterprise Agency, which provides advice to small and start-up companies, and Business Link for Cambridgeshire, which supports small and medium-sized enterprises.  Contact details for agencies providing advice and support to Huntingdonshire firms can be found from the link on the right.

Theft from shops and other crimes against local companies is being tackled by a new partnership called Huntingdon Business Against Crime (HBAC).  For more information see the link in related information.

A booklet, 'Your Business - Keep Crime out of It', which aims to help small and medium sized businesses to better protect themselves and their staff against crime is available from the Crime Reduction website - see external link on the right.
