Huntingdonshire District Council contributes to and supports the development of the local economy directly through the Economic Development service and through a range of services and initiatives such as Planning, Tourism, Housing , Leisure, Licensing, Environmental Health, Estates Management and Community Development.
The Economic Development Service offers both strategic and project-based contributions and undertakes four main roles. These are to:
- facilitate a vision for the local economy
- provide active support to businesses
- encourage services which support the local economy
- manage and coordinate partnership projects
Businesses are informed about services and projects through our website, quarterly breakfast forums and our newsletter, District Wide (link on top-right).
The council's medium-term Local Economy Strategy is available on the right.
The Greater Cambridge Partnership and East of England Development Agency are involved in developing strategies for the region's economy.
